The solution includes two interconnected apps – one for family members managing the care and another for foreign caregivers who are at the elderly’s home providing care. Each user can edit relevant information and view the data entered into the system, with updates reflected in both apps simultaneously. Using these apps enables seamless and comprehensive communication between family members and the caregiver, including maintaining care-related information that is accessible to everyone through the system.
The system allows creating a daily routine for each day of the week, including activities such as meals, medication administration, garden walks, bathing, position changes, walking exercises, bathroom assistance, and more. Each activity can be accompanied by images and explanations, enabling the caregiver to document the care provided on a daily basis, including recording and tracking metrics and additional information.
In the BetterCare app for families, you can manage all appointments, events, and meetings for the elderly, including doctor visits, family gatherings, pedicures, haircuts, and more. The system allows you to record who is accompanying the elderly and attach relevant documents, ensuring that everyone involved in the care is updated and important events are not forgotten.
In many cases, the foreign caregiver living with the elderly also takes on the role of managing the household. They are responsible for purchasing medications, toiletries, groceries, and more. Through the BetterCare app, you can maintain an organized record of household expenses and document the money given to the caregiver for these purchases. The system allows you to view a monthly expense record, track which family member provided money to the caregiver and how much, see the cost of purchased items, and have all expenses displayed in one place.
Managing payments for foreign caregivers involves multiple components such as base salary, pocket money, weekend payments, and expense reimbursements. In cases where the caregiver is employed through a home care company, part of the payment is transferred directly to the caregiver via the National Insurance Institute, while the family completes the remaining payment. The BetterCare app allows for the documentation and approval of all payments, providing an accurate record for the entire care giving period.
Caregivers are entitled to vacation, sick days, and holidays as per the law. The app allows you to record all vacation days taken by the caregiver, indicating which were paid and which were not, whether they worked on a holiday or took the day off, and more. This feature is important both for coordinating vacation days, ensuring everyone knows in advance when the caregiver will be absent so a replacement can be arranged, and for final settlement, where it’s necessary to know how many vacation days were used and how many still need to be paid.
As part of managing care for the elderly, there are tasks that are not part of the daily routine, where each person involved in the care is responsible for different matters, such as scheduling a medical appointment, contacting the National Insurance Institute, or ordering medications. The BetterCare app for families allows both the caregiver and any family member using the system to create a personal task list related to the care. These tasks are consolidated and displayed on the app’s main page, enabling centralized management of all care-related matters and using the system for personal task management.
When a caregiver is employed through a home care company, a monthly signature sheet documenting work hours must be submitted, signed by the elderly person or a family member, as well as the caregiver. The BetterCare app enables digital management of signatures, the creation of reports for the National Insurance Institute, and sending them directly to the offices through the app. This eliminates the need for manual submission of reports each month.
A good foreign caregiver living in the home is usually familiar with all aspects of the care and knows everything required. The problem arises when a replacement caregiver arrives, or a family member steps in to cover when the caregiver is sick or on leave. The app allows the replacement caregiver to access all care details, appointments, events, and the elderly’s detailed daily routine. These partners can download the app, log into the account, and access care information, appointments, events, payments, and more. The system is integrated with artificial intelligence, featuring an algorithm that continuously learns to improve and refine the quality of care. While working with the system, users will receive suggestions for daily routines and care adjustments through the AI connected to the platform.

BetterCare app for families allows them to manage the care of both parents within a single app. You can work with one or more caregivers and choose whether the caregiver can view data for both parents or only one, based on your preference. This enables expectation setting and the creation of a daily plan that includes both parents, with detailed care requirements for each. For example, one parent may require full nursing care, while the other may only need assistance with bathing and meal preparation.
